Earlier today I came home to grab the mail and had this waiting for me in my mailbox.
It was from Wufoo, a company whose online software I use to create simple forms (and the validation for them) for a few web clients. They have even allowed me to set up simple PayPal solutions for people who do not need a full storefront on there site. They make collection of simple information on the internet as easy as it can be.
The card reads:
Hi Daniel, my name is Ryan, one of the developers for Wufoo. I justed wanted to say thank you for using our service. You’ve been with us for awhile now and we’re delighted and honored to have earned such trust. You help us achieve our dreams and we won’t forget that. So thank you again on behalf of the entire Wufoo team.
This is the 2nd handwritten greeting card I have gotten from this company. The previous card came on the first Christmas after I signed up for Wufoo.
It may be a touch cheesy, and it may not even seem like it is a big deal, but it is. It would have taken Ryan about 30 seconds to write that in an email (and he seems busy enough as part of a 5 man team to justify that). But instead he sent me 1 of the 2 pieces of mail I actually cared about today, and in turn reminded me that damn, I like Wufoo. That’s something that an email, no matter how personal, would never have accomplished.
Plus, he sent a “Form Ninja” sticker, that sweetheart.
